Garden Snakes
Garden Snakes Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 9, 2026
Garden Snakes does not require a game account. Your progress stays on your device or in your browser. Depending on the version and where you play, the game and its hosting platform may process gameplay, technical, and advertising data. Rewarded ads are optional; some versions also show platform-managed ads at breaks in play.
This policy covers Garden Snakes apps and browser games. The features and services described below apply only where they are used. A website or app store that distributes the game may also process data for its own services, under its own privacy policy.
Who we are
Garden Snakes is independently developed and published. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to playgardensnakes@gmail.com.
Information stored on your device
The game stores progress, completed levels, hint balance, tutorial state, settings, and any privacy-notice acknowledgement on your device or in browser storage. We do not upload this information as a cloud save. Clearing app or website data can erase progress. If the browser cannot keep saved data after you leave, versions that support temporary saving keep progress only for the current visit and show a notice.
Gameplay and crash diagnostics
Versions with analytics send gameplay events to help us understand how people play and where they encounter problems. Some versions also send crash reports. The information and collection timing depend on the services listed below.
- Gameplay events: screens viewed, tutorial and level progress, completion or abandonment, time spent playing, restarts, undos, hints, and interactions with rewarded-ad offers. Not every version sends every event.
- Technical and session information: game version, browser or device information, operating system, and pseudonymous installation or session identifiers where the provider uses them. Browser services may use cookies or browser storage.
- Crash reports, where enabled: crash and exception details, stack traces, app state, device and operating-system information, and a pseudonymous installation identifier. Reports may include the current screen or level.
We do not add your name, email address, contacts, photos, personal files, or precise location to gameplay events or crash reports. If you contact us for support or a privacy request, we receive the email address and information you choose to send.
Advertising
Where available, you can choose to watch a rewarded ad for a hint. A rewarded video starts only after you choose the advertised offer, and the hint is granted only when the advertising provider confirms that the reward was earned. Some versions also request commercial breaks before returning to gameplay, such as after completing a level or closing a pause menu. The hosting platform decides when to show those ads.
Advertising services may process IP addresses, approximate location, browser or device identifiers, ad interactions, performance data, and technical information to deliver and measure ads and prevent fraud. An ad service may initialize or preload an ad before you choose a rewarded offer. Personalization and available privacy controls depend on the service, your region, and your choices.
Why we use this information
We use gameplay and technical information to improve puzzles, understand performance, and fix problems. Advertising helps support the game and provides optional hint rewards. Support information helps us answer questions and handle requests. We do not sell personal information.
Services used by each version
- Android and iOS apps: Google Firebase Analytics starts at launch, including before the first-run notice is acknowledged. Firebase Crashlytics collection starts after you acknowledge the notice and press Continue; on later launches it starts automatically. Google AdMob provides optional rewarded ads, with Google's privacy messaging where required.
- Browser versions hosted on itch.io or directly by us: Firebase Analytics starts automatically without a welcome notice. These versions do not use Crashlytics or AdMob. Browser privacy settings or content blockers may prevent analytics collection.
- Browser games on partner websites: the website's services can replace those described above. In the Poki version, the game sends level and tutorial progress and rewarded-hint offer events to Poki. Poki handles platform analytics and advertising. That version does not use Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, or AdMob, and we do not add a separate player identifier to those events.
- Windows apps: the game's analytics and advertising services are disabled.
In our Firebase Analytics integration, advertising storage, advertising user data, and ad personalization remain disabled; Android also disables advertising-ID collection for analytics. These settings do not control the separate advertising service or a hosting website.
Provider details and privacy controls are available in Privacy and Security in Firebase, Google's advertising information, the Google Privacy Policy, and Poki's Privacy Center. For another hosting website's own processing, consult its privacy policy. Providers may process data in multiple countries. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect users and the security of the game.
Your choices
The Privacy link is available from Options. The first-run notice, where shown, is an acknowledgement and does not provide a separate analytics opt-out. Leaving that notice open does not stop analytics that starts at launch. Available advertising or cookie choices are provided by the relevant service or hosting website. Where Google's persistent privacy form is required in the mobile apps, it is available as Ad Privacy in Options.
You can decline a rewarded offer and continue solving puzzles. Declining it does not disable a hosting platform's other advertising or services. Closing the browser game or uninstalling the app stops further use of that game session or installation. Clearing app or website data removes local progress and settings, but does not automatically erase data already received by us or a provider.
Retention and deletion
Where Firebase is used, we retain Analytics event-level data for no longer than 14 months; Crashlytics generally retains crash reports and associated identifiers for approximately 90 days before removal begins. Advertising services and hosting platforms, including Poki, set retention for the data they process under their own policies. Aggregated or de-identified statistics may be retained longer when they no longer identify a player or installation.
You can use our data-deletion instructions to submit a request. Tell us where you played so we can identify which services apply. We act on data we can reasonably identify, but cannot always connect an email request to a pseudonymous browser or installation. Requests concerning a hosting platform's own data may need to be made directly to that platform. Personal information in completed request correspondence is deleted within 30 days. We may retain a minimal record of the request date and outcome for up to 24 months.
Security
We limit access to diagnostic and support information to people who need it to operate and improve Garden Snakes or handle requests. Our service providers describe their security safeguards in the policies linked above. No storage or transmission system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Children's privacy
Garden Snakes does not ask players to enter names, contact details, or dates of birth to play. In apps using Google Mobile Ads, we limit ad content to Google's G rating and configure age treatment to match each store release's audience declarations. Hosting platforms manage their own audience rules, advertising, and privacy choices. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information through a support request or otherwise, contact us so we can review and delete it where applicable.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the game or its services change. We will publish the revised policy at this address and update the date above.
